THE CONTENDER

When It Comes To Taking On Anything In Life You Embody These Traits:

 01. You Know Your Why

Your reason for *why* you stay healthy is stronger than your desire for that fully loaded cupcake or burger - however you roll.

02. You Are Disciplined

You get it done. You already have some good health habits established and demonstrate discipline in following them.

03. You Are Committed

You have made a commitment to yourself to go for your goals by sticking with good habits. You know why it's important to be healthy and you stay the course despite set backs.

You Set Goals And Achieve Them

Your habits are on point! You are committed and consistent, and make your health a priority. You're basically a healthy habit badass!

Whether you've been this way since birth or you became fierce later in life, as a contender you set the bar high for yourself.

You've got serious health super powers.

You have a strong *why*. This is your reason for staying true to your goals and committed to seeing them through because you have the ability to look past the bumps in the road and see the bigger picture.

You don't mess around when it comes to your nutrition and exercise. You already know that eating processed foods is a no-go and nourish your body with whole foods.

You're able to manage stress for the most part as you have established healthy habits for taking time for yourself to get grounded and rejuvenate . It's not that you don't have stress, its that you have tools you have developed to help you through times of high stress.

You are equipped to ride the wave.

You understand the importance of daily consistency and have discovered that a daily routine of habits on repeat overtime get results.

Because you already have this down, you may be looking to go further and see what else you're made of, what challenge you can take on or may be thinking about how you can help others. Because more than likely, you've been asked how you did it and what your secret is.

As a CONTENDER you're always looking to level up, challenge yourself and want to deepen your knowledge of all things health and fitness (becoming a personal trainer or health coach crossed your mind??)

So just how do you take it to the next level?

Read on and I'll show you...

"Great achievers see obstacles as opportunities, welcome challenges along the way, and inspire others to do the same."

 Go Deeper To Grow

Your mindfulness, commitment and consistency are traits that allow you to expand, grow and stay curious about your abilities and how far you can take them.

For the serious contender, it means going deeper into personal growth, deconstructing current habits, and finding ways to challenge yourself and keep life interesting.

You're already nailing most of your health goals because you know what it means to eat healthy, you exercise consistently, and you're incredibly disciplined. Now you're in a position to use your curiosity to explore ways you can expand, and sharpen your tools.

To continue your growth you have to examine what's still there that you haven't dealt with. Look for old patterns of behavior that pop up at times of stress, and see if there is a way to disrupt these patterns so you can move past your plateaus.

The one thing that can hinder a contender is perfectionism. It's admirable to want to strive for the best, but be careful not to fall into a trap of perfection paralysis. This happens when the need for things to be perfect outweighs your focus to move forward and you get stuck. You have the ability to shake it off, just be on the look out for it if it sneaks up on you.

You have what it takes. You are a boss

The place you're in right now is unique as you're considered the 1% of people who succeed in achieving their goals despite fear, the unknown, or the outcomes. You're in a privileged position where you can explore ways to really test yourself, to see just what you can do.

Since you're ready to expand and take it to the next level, lets dive in:

This requires homework and diving into some books or pod-casts I highly recommend that will help get you started

Refine Your Habits:

You currently have great habits, but in order to continue growing and achieving the goals you set for yourself, you need to continue to deconstruct and refine your habits.

Begin by writing down all that you wish to accomplish moving forward. Now that you are here, what do you want to conquer next? Right them all down and remember - no dream is too big.

Each day give attention to all of your current habits. Make a note of those habits that will get you to go further and those that don't, or need a little tweaking.

How can you build on those current habits? Or do you need to get even sharper with habits?

Next, make a list of your goals for the next year.

  • Under each, make a list of all that is needed to be done to achieve that goal and break it down into steps.
  • This can be done by creating smaller goals for the next month, 3 months, 6 months to get you there.
  • To take it a step further, break down the next month into daily habits you want to add in to get you to the end of each month.

Know How Your Body's Needs Will Change Over Time And Make Adjustments:

As we age, our bodies go through many changes and we are not able to move, eat, or do the things we used to do as our bodies grow older and its need change.

This requires you to really know your body, learn how different foods and activities effect how you feel and your performance.

This is done in part by following the steps above to get really in tune with your habits and having a healthy lifestyle. Because you have a system down already that works or you, you're in a better position to make changes at the first sign of things shifting from the norm.

This can come in the form of a food you're able to eat now, may not be suitable for you as you age. Your exercise needs will also change as you grow. Stay in tune. Stay curious.

Set New Challenges for Yourself

In order to continue your growth, you'll have to take a deeper dive. This means expanding your idea of what you're capable of, evaluating where you're at, setting new goals (do this each year), and challenging yourself.

Some idea's:

  1. Train for a marathon

  4. Become a personal trainer
  5. Become a health coach
  6. Become an entrepreneur and use your tools to create a business you love. You're a boss after all, be your own boss.

Each year, make this a practice to evaluate where you're at, what you've accomplished and reach for more. With your stealth focus on goals and ability to accomplish them, you could inspire others to do the same. So consider as you move forward, finding a way to provide leadership and inspire others to achieve their goals.

Hey! I'm Shannon

When I'm not slaying my own Hashimotos dragons,

I'm creating real health habit forming on-line courses for women to feel good again, get their groove back, and realize their power to do anything they want (well, because you can).

I'm a fierce combo of independent thinking rebel and tireless problem solver, and my passion for real (no fads) accessible health writes the road map for creating habits that work.

I'm a former therapist turned Health Coach and Personal Trainer who was able to *FINALLY* discover that food was making me sick. This led to changing my diet and a few other tricks to heal my thyroid.

A fire was lit in me to help other women tired in their search, finally get answers. My method of madness is about real true to life strategies without the BS, showing up authenticity with a dash-o-sass.

When I'm not helping warrior women slay their health goals I'm busy with my family, my dog, dancing in my kitchen or taking a minute to indulge in my latest Netflix series obsession.

So if you've made it this far we should hang out.
