Why Getting To The Root Cause Should Be The Focus

health Jan 21, 2021

Getting to the root cause of weight and symptoms should be the focus, not diets. Diets are surface level solutions to a more than likely bigger problem. Diets focus on the external results of those mechanisms the contribute to the whole reason for gaining weight in the first place, but don't get to what is causing the weight.

Now add to this the systematic messaging that you got the way you are because you cannot control your cravings, refuse to put out the effort, want to actually enjoy your food, or prefer a gentler way of moving your body than killing yourself.

I understand how you would think that dieting is the way to go. Restricting yourself, limiting yourself, denying yourself, counting, weighing, measuring, calculating points on and on and on. It's because like I've said before this is how the industry was built. You have been conditioned to believe that you require all of these things to lose weight and feel better because you cannot do it without them.

This isn't health. Sorry to be blunt here, but there's no other way to say it: it's profiting on your vulnerabilities surrounding the shame you feel cast upon you from the leaches that is the diet industry. They don't give you the answers to solve the problem, they help perpetuate it, and then make you feel bad about yourself when what they offer doesn't change anything. It's all your fault. Yeah, NO.

Wrong. Wrong. And....wrong.

One of the most important pieces of my method is examining what root causes are, the various forms, how they happen, what to look for, and how to go about discovering them for yourself. I know from first hand experience that getting to the root cause of my symptoms, the cause of my thyroid issues, was single handedly the best thing that could have ever happened to me in terms of my health. It literally changed my life and allowed me to have a life I've only dreamed of, and to feel better than I have in literally decades.

I want this for you. It's why I created my method in the first place.

You see, when you actually dig a little deeper and discover what is actually behind the weight gain, the cravings, the symptoms, the fatigue, the lack of energy to even think about exercise, you'll be shocked to find that it's not a diet you need. You need to find out what is at the heart of why you feel all of this. It's no accident and it's not because you're a failure.

But I really want you to see ....dieting is a very surface level way of thinking about changing. It's outward focused - it's all about your appearance. And I get it. We all want to feel confident in how we look, but I need you to know it's not the answer to the solution you seek. If you want change for good, you have to get under the hood and start looking for what is behind the symptoms, and weight is one of them.

Because it's the symptoms that are signals from your body telling you that something is off. The body is crying out for help and needs you to pay very close attention.

What Are Root Causes?

There are many. Some people may have only one, some will have several. It all depends upon your current lifestyle choices, what you eat, your stress level, and what you have been exposed to.

Here are some of the main culprits:

  1. Stress
  2. Trauma
  3. Foods that trigger allergy or intolerance
  4. Parasites
  5. Pathogens
  6. Mold

A good place to start that I teach in my method is tracking your symptoms in relationship to what you're putting in your body, exposing your body to, or experiencing.  Tracking what you eat and any symptoms, chronic stress, having past trauma triggered - there is still a wound in need of healing, or if none of those seems to be the culprit, then going to a doctor who understands getting to the root cause to see if your symptoms are due to a pathogen, mold exposure, or parasites (about 70% of the population have parasites and have no idea, sorry to freak you out, but it's true).

Once you begin to discover that there is an answer, an actual cause for your symptoms and weight resistance, you can then use your time and energy wisely to do what is needed to heal rather than spinning your wheels focusing only on the external that inevitably gets you no where.

When you learn about this notion of finding the root cause, it opens up a whole new world and you begin to look at things differently. But you have a choice to make- if you are suffering from symptoms and want to lose weight, you can continue to be on the hamster wheel of dieting over and over again but coming back to the same place, or you can pivot and start to look at things a little differently, and start your path of connecting the dots.
